DTKJ Head, Harris Muhammadun assessed, number of private vehicles on major roads in Jakarta continues to increase and this condition is almost the same as before the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Thus DTKJ supports city in reenacting odd-even traffic system for private vehicles in Jakarta in order to prevent COVID-19 transmission during transitional PSBB period in Jakarta," he stated, Monday (8/3).

Central Jakarta Socializes Odd-even Traffic Policy on Nine Roads

He hopes the socialization or trial period on August 3-5 can be effective in educating the road users about odd-even traffic regulations.

"In the socialization period, DTKJ hopes Jakarta Government can prepare well the facilities and infrastructures to anticipate an increase in number of public transport passengers," he conveyed.

DTKJ, he added, asked city to provide more public transport fleets and add the operational hours to prevent buildup of passengers at bus stops and KRL stations.

"The buildup of passengers at Transjakarta bus stops and KRL stations are serious issues. DTKJ encourages mass transport users to comply with health protocols by wearing mask, maintaining safe distance with others, and often washing hands to prevent the spread of COVID-19," he explained.
